Joe Fafard was born in Ste-Marthe, Saskatchewan. He studied at the University of Manitoba (B.F.A.) and recieved his M.F.A. at Pennsylvania State University. Fafard is well known for his life like ceramic and bronze cows. His works are represented in the National Gallery of Canada, Glenbow Museum, Winnipeg Art Gallery and Montreal Museum of Fine Arts to name a few.
