Artist's
Statement
I envision a world
where religion or spirituality does not come in a form of force fed
rhetoric but in the inner beliefs of each individual. As I continue to
face my own mortality
my quest for guidance grows. I find that guidance in the beliefs of my
ancestors- the Norseman. The myths of the Norsemen fill me with wonder
and I try to transfer some of my fascination with these myths into my
work.
I do not rely on photographs (other people's work) for my
ideas/imagery. I use what I gleen from life, from watching people
together with my own interpretations
of mythology and what I want from an image or what I want to try to say.
I believe that these, as with all my works should be seen as naturally
as they were created. I resist framing, and glass. The viewer should
see the work as I see it.
As I saw it during creation. The lure of protection is avoided. Let the
work, created with acid free materials wherever possible, age
naturally.
