The author's romantic color photos celebrate
18 equines spanning six breeds, all running free in natural settings. The
images are accompanied by selected poetry and are followed by text and
drawings that profile each breed, highlighting the particularly outstanding
traits of each horse depicted. Vavra pays particular attention to the Andalusian,
providing an essay on its
history. No references and no index. Annotation copyright Book News,

This book is fantastic.
I loved this book because of the combination
of poetry and outstanding photoghraphs. Varva captures the true essence
of the horse.

Spectacular
This is by far Vavra's most beautiful book to
date. The images of the
various horses are magnificent. He focuses on
several different breeds - the Andalusian, the Arabian, the Fresian, the
American Saddlebred, the Morgan, and the Peruvian Paso. Each equine is
photographed in it's natural surroundings, doing everything from
posing for the camera to playfully frolicking in the snow. The entire gallery
of photographs is a necessity for any horse lover.
