Christel Dilliott: Owner and administrator of Better Music. I first met Gary in my hometown of London, Ontario when he was working at London Audio in the early 1980s. Eventually, we got married, bought our first home and immediately began renovating. We learned a lot about home construction that year - valuable knowledge we now apply in our custom installations today. We moved to St. Catharines and opened Better Music in 1987 as a partnership with the goal of providing unprecedented service in the home audio industry. Being involved in designing the systems so typically associated with a male-dominated industry, my involvement has ensured over the years that our designs are clean and functional; integrating well into new or existing homes. We’ve never felt that home theatre and home audio should disrupt your living space, -simply add to it. Two things we do have in common though: our love of movies and music and our dedication to offering the very best in audio-visual equipment and advice. family owned and operated business... last update July 2007 Gary Dilliott; Owner and technician of Better Music. I guess you can say my career actually began at age twelve when my mother bought me my first record player. I found that when I took it apart and put it back together again, it would still work and that sparked my interest in electronics. After graduating from the electronics technician program at the DeVry Institute of Technology, I worked for London Audio and Schneider Sound in London Ontario, two early pioneers in the business. Soon, I started to come out onto the sales floor where I developed my long-standing interest in finding the best possible equipment for my customers. In 1987, I took all that I had learned, and teamed up with my wife Christel, to open Better Music in St.Catharines, selling, servicing, and installing product lines that we considered to be the best available - only equipment we would be excited to buy ourselves. What gratifies me the most is helping people to re-discover movies and music; to degrees that they’ve never experienced them before. A new level of enjoyment shines through in their new equipment. The fact that many of them go on to become our friends is even better. It's really the best of both worlds for us. Better Music we are better music...
