Canaan Farm is a small farm in Niagara Falls Ontario specializing in high quality breeding stock and rare breeds.
Sheep are the predominant livestock, approximately 200 in all. The flock is composed of approximately equal numbers of Rambouillet, Rideau & Newfoundland (rare) plus a few black and white Rambouillet and the odd "specimen" breed - Shetland, Jacob.

There are a couple of Morgan Horses which includes the stallion Canaan Farm Gatsby, the last colt from Serenity Intrigue, the image of his sire in appearance and apparently also in calm temperament. Follow the horses link for pedigrees and Morgans for sale.
Large donkeys (half dozen) are bred and sometimes available.

A new breed, the Falls Terrier , is being developed which will be basically Border Terrier, but in the 13-16 lb size range and a variety of colors.
A productive white meat strain of Muscovy Duck has been in the process of improvement for twenty years with occasional new blood from Webfoot. Breeding stock is usually available.
Red Golden Pheasants have been bred in limited numbers for over 20 years.
A small free ranging flock of Chantecler Chickens (rare) are maintained as the only farm chicken. Breeding selection is simple, if one or a few don't look good they get eaten. Breeding stock is usually available or reference to a member of the local Niagara chapter of Rare Breeds Canada can be given.
