Successfully selected for:

  1. Early Lambing - Ewe lambs must lamb at about one year of age.

  2. Multiple Births - In confinement systems the single lamb is not economical.

  3. Mothering Ability - The ewe must accept all lambs without pressure or encouragement and have sufficient milk.

  4. Accelerated, Out-of-season Lambing - Breeding months are September, December, and May.

  5. Rate of Gain - Rams are used as terminal sires to improve gain and to produce lean carcasses at heavier weights.
