Hello everyone, I am the owner of CL16 #104. She is still in great shape of a long life and I am now in the processing of refitting her after a many years.

I recently lost her sails, rudder, tiller, sheets and blocks in a fire and was considering purchasing new equipment from the CL Sailboat Shop.

Does anyone have any experience in dealing with the current builders and retailers??

Murray I've always found them to be helpful and efficient in my dealings with them. They're shop isn't much to look at but they still turn out a good product. I think you'd be fine working with them.

I purchased a new fibreglass centerboard from them for my CL 14.
Arrived quickly and was easy to install with the instructions.
One thing though.....if you need info..call.
They can be a bit slow answering e-mails.

They were very helpful to me. I don't think you could do any better anywhere else. They also know your boat. My boat is nearly as old as yours #438. There is a CL16 forum that is mostly racers in Toronto and someone there may have a used set of sails.
You will enjoy the boat it is great.

Tom, Thanks for your reply. If there is a racing forum for Toronto I'd love to know more. I'm getting my kids interested and may bring theboat down to Toronto from the cottage.

In regards to the shop, I had a question regarding the traveler stops on my cl 16 and when I called to order new ones they were great in determining what I needed. I then recieved them in no time so I think you will be OK in dealing with them. I hope all is well since the fire and no one was injured.
