My '82 CL 16 I recently bought does not have a main sheet cleat. I am too lazy to sit there all day hanging on to sheet when that hand could be holding a cold one. Did it ever have one and where should one be placed?

I have a very old CL16. My mainsheet cleat is on the centerboard trunk. Behind the slot where the board pivots on the slope aft is a flat spot. This is where my cleat is. The cleat is on a swivel base. You should check with the CL folks they can help you. I think a lot of the CL boats were not center sheeted so the main could be furled on the boom.
Great sailing tom d
