After some serious searching on the 'net and weighing many pros and cons of various compasses, I've finally found one that will suit my needs. I was looking for a compass that had the following characteristics; compact without being to small, Big Numbers, shock absorbancy, can be placed in various places in the boat (the bungee straps do the job) can be hidden when the boat is unattended, works well when the boat is heeled over and of course not too expensive.

The next item on my list is a radar reflector that is "sail friendly" I am considering this one.

The radar reflector you pointed out at the 'binnacle' is similar to the one we
hang from the backstay on the Mirage33.
They seem to be a good practical unit for a sailboat.
What will you do next...install your own radar??
