I should NOT have used the walnut shell pellets on the floor for non slip.
I have sued it on several plywood dinghys but I painted them with latex exterior paint and it is thicker than one part polyurethane marine paints. A little sanding and 2 coats of paint and it still will tear up my knees.
In light air sailing solo I sometimes sit on the floor and move around there. With shorts on, the knees get a beating.
I either have to sand it all off or I may try some rubber mats.
O well I tried.

Would the fine silica type sand have been a better choice than the shells?
That's what we use on porch stairs.
