I read somewhere that this is the way you
can retrieve outboard motors that have fallen off the transom.

Shall we start our own salvage company? Maybe we can retreive some WW 2 torpedos at the bottom of Halifax Harbour.

Don't laugh. There is still unexploded ordinance at the bottom, a lot from that big magazine explosion in 1945.

The Bedford Institute of Oceangraphy is
putting on a show this month using the latest sonar results.
They will show us what the basin would look like if the water was removed.

I remember going over some charts of Halifax Harbour and seeing cautions for unexploded torpedoes. My grandfather was also a survivor of the Halifax Explosion and I often wonder how much is down there.

I've also heard that there's a railway engine at the bottom of the Strait of Canso. Apparently it slipped off the "Scotia" while crossing from Mulgrave to Port Hawkesbury.
