Thank you all for the suggestions for mainsheet cleat and mast step. I went to the Hobie dealer for a cleat and he had just junked out a Hobie 16, so he sold me the whole mainsheet set up...three large blocks, one with exiting cleat attached with 7/16" line for $35. At West Marine one block and cleat is $45. The works mount on the traveler, I sailed yesterday and it was perfect. The mast step I replaced last night with 1/2" plywood. Now I want to deal with those narrow two-board teak seats. Sitting on the rail with my feet in the strap is fine, but when the wind is lighter I know those seats with the big gap aren't going to let me sail for hours without some fitted cushions. Looks like a good winter project. Thanks again, guys.

That's interesting about the CL16 seats.
My CL14 moulded in seats are a half inch
less deep that yours...but with no gap.
I wonder which is more comfortable over a period.
