Delivered my CL 14 to a former co-worker in Chester's Back Harbourtonight. Arrived at 1930 and her husband wanted to rig & launch the boat right away. He pointed out a spot across the water from his house. I backed the trailer down and knew right away i was in trouble. All loose stones. Got the boat rigged & launched with a good breeze blowing..then as if by magic the wind dropped to nothing. the plan was for the husband & me to sail across to his dock while my wife drove the van back. What a hassle. i was standing in the cold water holding the boat while my wife and buyers husband took turns spinning gravel 7 digging in deeper. Finally another local came along & they found boards to slip under front tires. that got it out. I bet my underneath is all dinged from the rocks. next i jumped into the 14 and paddled to a dock where the husband caught up with me. then he paddled while I steered across his harbour. now the boat is tied to his dock. They also have a mooring ball that i can use for the 'Piper when I sail that way.
Yes, it was sad to se the 14 go but after four years I finally got to see how it felt on the water. (under paddle) On thing I won't miss is the way a small boat heels over when you quickly move from one side to another.
