Hi guys,
Here's a pic of my boat beached on Verchères island on the Saint-Laurent. The person you see on the beach is my wife, stretching her legs.

The weather is finally getting better with some wind in my region. I had a few very nice sails lately.

Mari-Bell, quietly waiting while we were having our lunch on the beach.

Moments like that are worth a million dollars in my mind.

Looks beautiful sitting there nice & level.
Must be nice not having to worry about tides or breakers bouncing your boat around.

Thanks.Yes, there are no tides there. The occasional waves created by a passing motor boat or cargo ship are negligeable in this area and it is a soft sand beach anyway.

I think the hability to beach is one of the things making our little boat so valuable.

Hi Michel,
Nice pic's, very serene and peaceful.
Question.....your boom is way off horizontal.
Is that how you normally sail her????
pro's and con's of sailing that way???
maybe others can pitch in with a response to this one too.
might save a good bash to the head on an unexpected jybe!!!!!

Thanks guys!
No, I don't sail this way.I just raise my boom when motoring. This way, I can stand up in the cockpit if I feel like stretching my legs.

Good idea! Put that topping lift to work.

We always do that with the boom when the main is flaked too to create more headroom in the cockpit.
