I went to Chapters the other day to do some free reading , and I picked up a copy of Ontario Sailor. In there I found that there is going to be a CL 16 regatta up in Georgian Bay somewhere(I believe).
I didn't see anything on the CL site about this, and they're sponsoring!?

Has there ever been any kind of similar event for Sandpipers? Any interest out there?
There are loads of CL's around, and I think it would be neat to see a rendevous of us somewhere! Maybe Sandpipers and CL 16 and 14's or whatever.

Eric:

I was thinking the exact same thing. It would be really cool if we could all get together sometime.

That would be cool and worth the long haul.
I checked the CL16 Owners Association website, but it seems inactive.
Maybe Cody or Tom could drop a comment.

I just picked up a copy of Ontario Sailor. On page 2: "Regatta planned for CL-16 dinghy". A few points:
- Hilton Beach on St. Joseph Island
- $5000 prizes
- August 7-8
- info@phelpswilkes.com

These people are serious racers. My old ?CL16 with stretched out sails and an old duffer at the helm would only imbarrass the group. I would only be interested in a recreational event. I probably would not go unless someone needed a crew.

I'm with Tom on this one as my racing days are over. However the Wayfarer fleet seems to be quite active on the recreational level and I'm sure they'd make us feel quite welcome.

Wow, thanks for the link!
This is truly an international event! Check out the list of competitors so far.
Great location as well.
Anyone need crew?? I could make myself available!
