When I first bought my boat last fall I posted the question about continious sheeting on the jib.
it was answered with mixed emotions, some felt I would further clutter the cockpit others felt it would clean it up.
well the cockpit is still cluttered and I need a solution.
so I am posing the question again.
also I have a contraption that controls the jib halyard tension, does anyone use one of these?
how do I decide where to set it?

Connecting the jub sheets is of value primarily is you sail solo. It makes it a lot easier to grab a line and not have the two sheets tangle.
I had a magic box on by mast for the jib halyard tensioning. It is great for racing and can be useful if you have a furling jib. I took mine off. The furling jib rotted because the previous owner left it on the boat and rolled up. The SUN finally got to it and it is usless now.
I have since rigged several versions of a jib downhaul.
Everytime I try to unclutter my cockpit I add more strings.
Besides the two halyards I have the cunningham, jib sheets, main sheet, outhaul,
jiffy reefing (2 lines) and I have thought about adding jack lines. This doesnt' include the spinnaker lines.
Damn now I know why I have problems sailing solo.
Good sailing, tom d
