I bought my Sandpiper two day ago,it's suppose to be a 1978,but no hull number,
I heard other people complaining with this problem.
The boat whas build by C&L boatworks
Waterhouse&may
Sail number is 154

Why did it have no number?
Jean

No worries!
My boat is a 1976, and there isn't a hull number either. For identification purposes, your sail number is the boats ID. Tom at cl said this was normal practice back then.
I'm #144, pleased to meet you!
(It seems odd that 2 years separate our boats, yet we're only 10 sail numbers apart. 1977 must have been a slow year.)
Cheers, Eric

Glad to meet you Eric,well maybe it's a 1976.
The problem is for the tranfer with Custom Canada, they said I need a serial number and I have to ask Coast Gard to obtain it.The Coast Gard send me documents, they need pictures etc, after that they will send me a serial number in six month...lot of fun

Hi fellows: My Sandpiper has sail number 134 and according to Tom at CL Boatworks was built in 1974. Going sailing tonight (10/01/02) for the last time this season. Hauling out on Friday. Best wishes...Ken

Hey Ken, with this warm weather we're having maybe it's too early to haul out!!
Truth be told, I'm also coming out this week.
I've got OPB to out on until the end of the month though!
great season though!

Hauling out already??

We stay in the water until at least Thanksgiving. Sometimes into early November.
Must admit, the winds seem to pick up this time of year and the North Atlantic does get cold.

Speaking of late sailing......our Skipper just called from Philly, where he's down earning yankee dollars to support our expensive habit.
He wants us to enter the Mirage 33 in the Turkey Bowl race on Oct 12th.
