Here's D'Arcy showing us the Rendezvous flag closer-up.

Most of the gang were still at the table, after the awards, for this hoisting of the mug, as it were. It is beautifully engraved "Sandpiper Rendezvous 2005" with the 565 bird logo below. Classy mug.

Eventually I would like to thank everyone ( I have lots more photos) for making this event so successful. But since the flags and mugs topic came up, I would like to thank D'Arcy now for our several late night telephone conversations, dreaming up ideas we thought would be meaningful and appropriate, wondering if we could get them ready in time. And for his encouragement.

This was our first overnight cruise and being part of a group made it very special. We learned so much from you and are inspired to cruise farther.

Hard to believe but sailing this weekend we find we like our boat even more than before. The Sandpiper fleet showed us so much over the rendezvous weekend. Thanks again to a very special group of sailors.
