I have been searching the web for used sails. Lots are available. Anybody have experience buying used sails sight unseen? I'm sure it is a bad idea if performance is an issue, or if price is anything close to new, but it looks like I could pick up a used sail for a SMALL fraction of new.

Elmet, you could also try calling around to some of the sail lofts in the area.(not sure where you are?) Sometimes they have new sails already made(overstock or whatever) that may only slight alteration for cheap. They may have servicable sails leftover or abandoned from other customers on hand.
Genco in Toronto sometimes has this type of sail. I can't say about the other lofts, but you could try.
