CL-14 for sale. Many, many years old. Good condition. Great trailer. She needs some love and attention.

Fine boat and design, "just too boring, Dad" for my kids. Located in Detroit area.

Question for forum, how can I tell age/vintage? What is the "going value" for these older boats? Paid just under $1000.

Thanks for your help.

I have an old CL16. I had to quess at the build year. Most CL16 have a plate on the lazarette with the hull number and 2 digit year made I don't know if the CL14 is similar. Contact CL direct and give your hull nu8mber they can give you a good idea of the age.
Old boats decent shape in the south Michigan area with decent trailer $1000 may be pushing it a little high. Try and see you can always lower the price but it is difficult to raise it.

Clean it up and make sure the trailer lights work properly. Have all the rigging in working order. Wash the sails so no mildew shows etc. You should get close to your grand.

I paid $ 2000.00 CDN for my 1984 Cl14 two years ago.
It was, and still is, in perfect shape.
Sailed very little. Had to replace the centerboard which delaminated from being stored outdoors under a tarp for years.
I wouldn't sell the boat for any less if I sold it today.
