I have a standard tiller extension but I want to cut my tiller handle to raise it when not in use.

I have a picture that I got last year on the forum for this arrangement. One thing however bother me. My extension is not adjustable. I cannot find any that I could use and pull or push as needed like those pole we use to clean the pool by twisting one end and pushing it inside to resize it.

Anybody ever found one?

Sea Way out of Los Angeles makes one called an Adjustable Hiking Stik. Unfortunatley, I could not find my model on the internet.

So does Forespar http://www.apsltd.com/Tree/d3000/e693.asp

and west marine http://www.apsltd.com/Tree/d3000/e693.asp

as well as Holt Allen, Ronstan, and Spinlock http://www.layline.com/llf/llpages/htmlp52/page52.htm

The forespar F108 model is available at west marine and works well. Its the one I used with my modified hinge-up Sandpiper tiller. I also have the same one on my Luna 24.
It adjusts by twisting handle left to unlock, push/pull to desired length, then twist handle to right to lock.

I've got a RF3134 that I like quite a bit. Adjustable from 29" to 44" - plenty of range for this size boat. It's held up to hard usage for 5 years, although the ball at the end tends to come off - if you get one don't depend on the ball to hold the tiller, it'll come off at the worst possible moment.

Oops. I thought you were talking about a CL-16, not a Sandpiper. The RF3134 may be on the short side, but one of the other lengths should be appropriate.
