WE have just bought a Hunter 23.5 water ballast sailboat and would like to know how much bleach to put in the water ballast tank(she takes on a thousand lbs.) We will normally be leaving the boat in the water for 1-2 weeks. Would really appreciate hearing about this to prevent algae growth. Thanks, Jill

generally about 1 tablespoon per gallon will keep water sterile, and that should be good enough.
