I know this isn't related to CL boats, but I just got back from a Princess cruise to the Mexican Riviera. I got a day on the water in Puerto Vallarta with an excursion company on a 40 ft boat that they referred to as a Nelson built in 1981. It had a pretty clear deck, a spartan cabin below and was a pretty quick boat. We caught and passed a 47' Beneteau. It seems to have been designed for racing more than cruising. Can anyone help with identifying it? An internet search came up with a Nelson Marek 40 footer but the only picture I could find didn't show enough detail to identify it, but certainly didn't rule it out either. Does anyone know how I can get a look at pictures of the Nelson Marek?

Here is a pic of Regardless on its way to Mackinac (actually is about 1 hr south of me); http://www.regardless.org
Prolley a bit newer than 1981 I think.

That looks very much like the boat. Bit newer, with much better sails. We were sailing with a storm jib. The replacement genoa was on order.
Thanks

I'm impressed at how knowledgable the people are on this forum. Seemingly difficult questions are answered with ease. I always look forward to reading new postings.
