Does anyone have an idea what the relative strengths & weaknesses are between these two?

My son & I were checking out a nearby lake which would be fine for a little boat, like the old Sunfish, but no way for a 'Piper. But if I were to have a little boat for knocking around small ponds & lakes, I'd prefer a sloop rig rather than a lateen. Also, Sunfishes get awfully wet!

I'm really just teasing myself with this idea, but it's an interesting question to me.

Here are the specs on the boats:

CL 11 vs CL Echo 12
L.O.A. 11' 3" vs 11' 10"
Beam : 4' 10" vs 4' 11"
Draft : c/b 3' vs d/b 2'
Draft : 8" vs 4"
Weight : 170 lbs vs 140 lbs
Sail Area: 86 sq.ft. vs 92 sq.ft.

So I guess the Echo is lighter & faster; the 11 heavier & more stable?

Anyone ever sailed either/both?

If anyone cares, I did a search query in this forum on this question & Cody answered this question 3 years ago.
