My husband and I just bought a used CL16 (ID 797) and are really enjoying sailing it out on Lake Chautauqua (Western NY). Thanks to this forum for info. as we are very pleased with the boat. We've taken her out three times all ready, though the first time we forgot to put the plug in and ended up with the rear stowage compartment filled with water! We're going to take her out on Lake Erie one of these days, hopefully before it begins to freeze!

You will enjoy the CL16 on Lake Erie. This boat is designed to be able to handle larger bodies of water, you will tend to get steadier breezes on the big lake.
Hook your toes under the strap and hang out!

I sail my CL16 on Lake Michigan. It is great and with the long runs you sometimes get so relaxed that you have a tendacy want to doze off. I love to sail on big water. I seldom sail more that a couple of miles from shore. The wave spacing is usually greater than smaller lakes and big waves are less of a problem. These boats will take a lot of rough water.
