Hi! I have the opportunity to buy a Code 40,is this a sailable boat for one person as a beginer,I know the owner sailed it solo, but I am not sure of his experience, this will be a cottage boat on a fair size lake, I have only sailed a laser twice in about 20 km winds

Like you, I had only sailed a Laser until I bought my Code 40 five summers ago. I prefer to sail it single handed as it gets kinda crowded and boom is quite low. On most lakes it will be fun fast ride, but I have also been out on Lake Simcoe in 30 knot winds and that was too exciting. I'd say go for it, its a fun boat.
