The Saturday, October 29 edition of the Peterborough Examiner included a story about the Blackwood family sailing The North Channel. It was a full page (less the crossword puzzle and some hotel adverts) in the TRAVEL section. It included a photo of Fair Dinkum, a 20-foot Matilda, and a photo of Sea Quell, a MacGregor. The Blackwoods were participating in a Trailer Sailor flotilla this past July.IP: 67.71.21.103 |

http://www.trailersailors.org/ The pics of the annual North Channel Cruise should get the juices flowing . I've met Rod and Ondine, of S/V SeaQuell. Great folks. For those of you who were at the Rendezvous with a VHF, you may remember me hailing Seaquell on our cruise, to see if they were nearby, on the water. Rod and Ondine keep Seaquell in Parry Sound, and were coming home from the NC the weekend of the Rendezvous. [The internet has helped bring lots of folks together!] The TSA North Channel Cruise is held annually the last 2 weeks of July. Some folks sail the entire two weeks, and others do a shortened cruise. The rocks at South Benjamin sure reminded me of the area just outside the mouth of Halifax Harbour...from Chebucto head to Peggy's Cove. Our granite rocks are brighter white and water much rougher.IP: 142.167.230.201 |

I showed the North Channel pix to Jo. She loved them. She made 2 comments:- We need a cockpit tent; and, - What, no sandy beaches? IP: 69.156.57.82 |

Hi, I was at the annual meeting of the TSA last night. It was held at Scarborough Bluffs Sailing Club. This is the second year that the meeting is held in Canada. I would encourage anyone to join. You meet friendly people and always have a great cruise in good company. Especially for the annual North Channel Cruise.IP: 69.157.102.221 |

If you're going, I'm going!! How many days' cruising can the S565 reasonably handle? Or is it the sailor?

Matelot, I'm a member too. I wanted to go to the dinner and meeting, but missed the rsvp deadline, on account of being away in Vegas. What was the flea market like? How was attendance for the dinner? Inquiring minds Eric Stan, I would say the Sandpiper can stay out as long as there's room in the head waste tank Other than that, it's up to the sailor . The North Channel is like the crown jewel of cruising grounds in this part of the world. I hope to get to experience it next summer. Eric IP: 130.63.85.93 |

At this moment, i'm going to plan one week. Not sure when, but if i'm going that far, I want to sail. A week might get uncomfortable on such a small boat, but I think that must be accepted as part of the experience. Maybe stop someplace midweek for provisions and a shower. Definately going to need a cockpit tent. Stan, is your wife going to be mass producing these? I'm still interested. IP: 67.107.33.106 |
