I just attended the presentation by Derek Hatfield, Canada's Around Alone sailor. It was interesting and inspiring. It was enough to make any true sailor look for open water in the end of January.
If any of you are affiliated with a yacht club, Derek does his presentation free of charge. The call for sponsors was very subtle and in Peterborough folks lined up to meet him and to help the campaign.
If you get the chance, it is highly recommended.

I saw his presentation in Toronto last October and I was impressed. We are trying to get him to Winnipeg in April or May when he is passing through.
