Thanks Eric, The boat towed very well, didn't notice the weight mush either. Here's another couple of pic,s of her. Maybe in the summer we can hook up for a sail? I am semi retired now (working 3 days a week) Cheers John

That pic with Ivanhoe was taken by my boat previous owner at the Melocheville marina on the "Lac Saint-Louis" west of Montreal. Three Pipers at the same place is a rarity.I am at the Contrecoeur marina and we are two Piper skippers and we are dock neighboors. You can see "Outarde" behind me: "Outarde",as I was leaving her after a pleasant meeting on the Saint-Laurent: I think Outarde is a 83 or 84....A young bird! IP: 65.93.226.9 |

Great news John. Sandpipers even look good in the snow. You've got yourself a marvellous little boat. D'Arcy, ShortwaveIP: 67.68.48.126 |

Michel...do you remember the sail number of Outarde? From the picture it almost looks like four digits with a 2 as the first. If so, that would be the newest boat I've seen so far.[This message has been edited by whited (edited March 13, 2006).] IP: 142.167.245.101 |

I haven't rigged my piper yet but I just noticed in the picture I posted that the foresail or jib has got a red line for port side and a green line for starboard side. Is this the norm for these lines or sheets so you don't mix them up on the deck floor?I don't have a name for her yet! Any suggestions? John

The colour co-cordinated jib sheets are a nice touch. I doubt you would get them mixed up on a modest boat like ours... but what the heck.IP: 142.167.245.101 |

Whited, I'm pretty sure that Outarde is no:563. Does it fit the assumed year ?... And, how many Sanpipers were made?...[This message has been edited by Michel (edited March 14, 2006).] IP: 70.50.127.48 |

Cody never did tell us. He was going to do a history of the Sandpiper and post it online. Now I guess we'll have to pry the info out of Tom.In our little unofficial data base 'Stan the Man' has the most recent sail number.... 1305 from 1989?? note: GypsyII has sail # 576 and is a 1979 model.
