Don:I am just back from a 1-week vacation. We did a whirlwind tour of the Maritime provinces. We left Peterborough, Ontario on Friday August 6. On Friday the 13th we were in Halifax and still travelling east. We got home last night at about 10:30. I looked in the phone book but there was a whole column of White, Ds. My wife, 2 teenage daughters and I took in the waterfront and the busker's festival Thursday evening and Friday morning. We enjoyed the Maritime Museum but had to budget our time. We stayed in the Bayview Motel overlooking the Ceres docks. I did not see any Sandpipers in the harbour (but we did see Theodore Tugboat). Let the City Administrator know that we contributed our fair share to the local economy. We had a blast! IP: 64.230.161.160 |

Glad you had a good trip. Wife & I walked down to the waterfront yesterday but it was stinky & crowded. Under certain conditions that sewage sure does smell. The big excitement was the finalie of the Acadian 400 year festival. You're right, not many 'Pipers around here. most sailers like a solid keel boat so they can sail along the coast.IP: 142.177.159.157 |

Just thinking...too bad we didn't get together. That would have been a real treat for me...launching and rigging the boat with someone who has a 'Piper. I've had mine sitting in the driveway while my wife heals from her operation. Today or tomorrow we install a bay window we bought last spring, and then we concentrate on the boat.IP: 142.177.36.12 |

Hi SuperPiper -Sounds like you had a fab trip. Do you have any photos you'd be willing to share with us? We love sailing and boat photos around here! Thanks, Christy in Columbus Ohio IP: 12.16.164.205 |

Ah, the digital camera. Well I almost bought one in Fredericton, NB. I even had permission from my wife. But, $375 for the camera + $159 for a memory stick = more than I paid for my first car (and a lot of film processing, too).Did I mention that we saw the World's Largest Axe? My 14-year old daughter kissed it. Work the puns on that . . . IP: 64.230.161.49 |

Depending on what kind of digital camera you choose....and it's memory card type....spare memory cards can be purchased at discount computer shops for much less than a camera store. For example; my waterproof camera http://www.pentaxusa.com/products/cameras/camera_overview.cfm?productid=18197 takes these cards: http://www.blackphotostore.com/english/proddetail.asp?sku=3538 IP: 141.117.228.250 |

I have an Olympus D-560 zoom. Works well. cmae with a 16 bit card. Up graded to 60 bit card for $60.While the Grand Kids were here we took over 300 pictures. Or I should say thier Mom took the pictures. They are all on disk. You only need to print the ones you want. In its self that just may have coverd the cost of the camara. Also we have a copy of all the pictures an do my daughtor. Sid IP: 64.12.117.21 |
