On Canada Day, Thursday, my sister in law and her husband showed up with a present for the boys. They bought them a little 50cc minibike. Nice aunt and uncle eh!

Well dad had to go for some rides too! I lost it on a turn and ending up wiping out! Now I'm on crutches, with left knee ligament damage!! I've got one of those full length knee braces on.

I'm not sure how long I'll be this way, but there's no way I can launch and retrieve my boat this way! I can sail though I went out on a friends boat yesterday, that is marina slipped. I was basically relegated to cockpit duty.

The whole situation is kinda funny in retrospect! Telling the story is even more funny! I've got sailing plans yet for this summer, and hopefully they won't all be lost.
If the Doc says stay off the knee, ie: no work, I may have a friend help me launch my boat in a marina, for the end of the summer, with the roller furling, and hobble to the boat for a sailing fix! I won't go out alone, and will probably only go out on light air days!

So guys, go out have have a good sail for me on your Sandpipers!! Stay away from mini bikes

Hello Eric, I'm going to try to get out on the water today. Got Grand Kids visiting from Germany. They will be sailing for the forst time.

Man...that's a bummer. I've been looking at scooters & motorcycles off & on. A Harley is my dream, but a 250cc scooter is probably more practical for the city. Now that I've heard your story, I'll stay on 4 wheels. Hope you're back in action next month.

Eric;
Dont look at it sa being cut short, look at it as being a little more challenging !
You just have to find someone that loves to sail with no boat *smile* get there number and make them on call crew.

Yes only one boat in the picture, its a really quiet bay for traffic most times.
Out of my collection of summer toys GypsyII is the first in and the last out. I will post a pic of my pleasure fleet when they're all in - my wife calls the waterfront Bob's marina.

Eric, I should have introduced you to our skipper (Mirage 33) when you were here a year ago. He would invite 3 or 4 good-looking women along to wait on him hand & foot with food & drink plus one or two regular crew (me) to keep the boat sailing while he sat on the lazeratte seat pampered in a style I'd like to become accustomed to..
Yes...there was 'no life like it'.

LOL Don and Bob. I was sorta thinking the same thing! If I could get her launched, maybe some cute Bow Bunnies, passing by the marina, would take pity on the poor poor man with the bum leg and help him sail his boat. They would fetch me beverages and apply sunscreen as needed!

Overall, I'm a "glass half FULL" guy. I'll be back on the water soon!

And Don, don't give up on your dream of having a Harley just because I was careless!! I've probably on ridden a motorized bike 3 or 4 times in my life!!

Bob, pleasure fleet? Sounds interesting, I look forward to the story!
