While in Mahone Bay & St. Margaret's Bay yesterday to retrieve my trailer license plate, I came across a lonely looking older Sandpiper. It was sitting on a crappy homemade trailer, near a boat club. The hull was painted tan, and didn't have the serial number stamped in the transom. I'm assuming it's an earlier model. It also had a different mast.A black painted model that tapered as it got to the top. The deck had two shroud padeyes on each side. The boat looked well used, but I suppose it brought many fun hours to someone over the years. It's a tough life for the 'Pipers here on the coast, especially if they are a bit neglected. That won't be the case with my 'baby'.IP: 156.34.82.176 |

Not to far from me, there's a Sandpiper sitting all tarped up on a trailer. It's never moved in the three years since we been in the area. The owner did replace the tarp once, after the previous one shredded apart. I've often wanted to stop and look at it, but its in the back of a gated RV park. There isn't any office or anything, so there's no one to ask, unless I get lucky and catch someone coming or going as I pass by.Eric IP: 130.63.85.93 | |
