I purchased a sandpiper a couple of years ago.I just cannot wait for the next season as I enjoy my boat so much.I have been sailing on Moyie lake just out side of Cranbrook.Next year I hope to try Kootenay lake, which is a bigger lake.I am still learning how to sail, and still getting to knew my boat. I have enjoyed reading the comments on the web site. And looking forard to any advice about my boat. The boats name is Crystal .If there is any boat owners in this area it would be nice to hear from you.

Hi Dennis, welcome and congratulations on becoming a Sandpiper sailor!
Bring on any and all questions you might have, and we'll all try to help where we can! Right now the only sailing we're doing is the virtual sailing .
Something I look forward to in the winter is the Boat Show, in January. For me, it begins a countdown for when I can launch and go sail! It's also when I put a push on to get winter projects done[in amongst skiing ].
Cheers,
Eric

Welcome to the group Dennis. It's great to have a voice from the Canadian West. Our long time poster from Calgary (Robert - CL 16) hasn't been around this sailing season.

Welcome aboard Denis. This was my first year sailing. The main reason that I bought the Sandpiper was because of all the info on this forum. I love the boat and I'm looking forward to our gathering.

Congrats Dennis! I'm sure that you'll continue to be pleased with your Sandpiper. Here's the way I treated my boat on waters large and small from 1988 - 2003

"Sail her as if she were a dinghy...and she'll carry you as though she were a keelboat!"

You have a great boat for BC sailing Dennis. Besides the interior lakes you are so close to some amazing yet protected saltwater trailer sailing. Washingtons' San Juan Islands or the Gulf Islands off of Vancouver are a short drive and ferry boat crossing away.

We sailed Lasers when living in Vancouver. Now that we own a Sandpiper we dream of taking it west for some fine cruising adventures.

Congratulations, D'Arcy
