Here's a pick from the May 24 weekend. Had to make a "pit stop" at the start of the journey to Honey Harbour I apologize in advance if the photo is too LARGE!
Here my son opened the hatch and top drop board just long enough to snap this one, while I tend the helm in the pouring rain!!
Happy sails all!! Eric IP: 130.63.85.93 |

Boy..does that picture put me back a month ago. Rolled up to a couple of Tim's on the way back. My towing rig was a red Dodge 1500 Ram pickup with regular cab. My boat bottom is still original and I have a stern pulpit. Do your truck back tires get wet when you launch the 'Piper? I have a photo print taken just after I arrived home but am missing drivers for my Umax Astra 1220P scanner.

I have to setup some type of crutch system for my mast. Now it rests on front & stern pulpits and is supported on hatch with styrofoam. makes it awkward to go in and out of cabin to work.IP: 156.34.49.214 |

I'm in a 98 F 250 with a six foot bed, when my tires are in about 3-4 inches of water I can push the boat off of the trailer, same puting it back on the trailer.Sid IP: 67.40.133.135 |

So far I've been lucky with ramps that I have gone too. When my back wheels get to the water's edge, the boat is able to float off, with a gentle nudge. It was the same with the Aerostar van.As far as mast crutch, I have nothing special there. I bungee the mast to the bow pulpit, and support it at the transom with a 1x6 that is cut out at the top like a * U *. Same at the companionway, except it's a 2x3. The bases of the wood have a small cross piece, for support, like an upside down *T*. When I tie the mast down, the pressure holds the wood still. I rap the rope around the mast completely once, and use the aft mooring cleats, and jib sheet cleats for the securing points. The mast is solid! I toss the wooden supports in the back of the truck when not in use. At home, I remove the companionway support, so I can get in and out of the boat, a little easier. The bottom has a fresh coat of VC17. Mainly for asthetics, it was looking shabby, so I used up a part can I had. The boat has had bottom paint since I've owned her. She was kept in a slip. I had her slipped a couple of seasons as well. It was easier to re-apply fresh paint than to strip off the old. Plus now if I'm so inclined, she's ready for a slip anytime! You may see some blotches on the bottom in last years pic. Also the rusty rims, yuk!
Towing with the pick up is like a dream. The boat trails nice! Eric
