Bottom set Upper set [img]http://www.dotphoto.com/SAN1/56/6E/70/i566E7019-50FA-42E0-AF37-01E773C22268.jpg[/imp] I came up this idea through trial and error. I had 2 pieces of aluminum from an old sign that almost got thrown out several times. I sanded them to get the old paint off. I cut 4 small blocks of ash and screwed them to the measured dimensions same as my rudder gudgeon and pintle. I had ordered the 2 sets of gudgeons and pintles from CL. I screwed the top roller in place for the mast to ride on. When traveling I keep the mast in the lower position. When ready to launch I lift the system to the higher position. This makes it real easy to lift the mast by myself. I had to keep it high enough that the lower part would not bottom out. By keeping the mast on the roller in the stronger position, I haven’t noticed any flex at all. I was in Princess Auto last week and noticed that they have aluminum channels. They would work fine. I really like this system. It works for me.IP: 209.217.117.198 |

I don't know why your fourth img code doesn't work, but your fifth has a typo in it. Just so ya know I live near Kingston! I learnt sailing at the Collins Bay Yacht Club and I currently sail on Sydenham Lake. ------------------ Canadian Sailor "Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. Thanks, I re entered the last two photo's. They are the two that didn't get through the fistt time. I'm about 1 1/2 hrs from Kingston. My friend with the Tanzer sails from Ivy Lea marina. I had windy island there about a month ago. It's a great place to sail.IP: 209.217.117.198 |
