Went downtown to historic properties on the waterfront and bought a Bras d'Or Lakes chart for this summer. On the way back I noticed activity at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. They had a model ship building demonstration happening. What a pile of models...everything from hugh sailing ships, to tugboats, Cape Islander fishing boats, larger draggers to navy ships. They even had a model of HMCS Bonaventure, our last aircraft carrier. Roughly 80 builders from NS to NB and Maine were showing off 300 models and seemed eager to share their hobby. For the technical minded, one guy had a demonstration of half a dozen different engine types and they were turning props. http://museum.gov.ns.ca/mma/events/events.html [This message has been edited by whited (edited April 23, 2005).] IP: 156.34.80.33 | |
