With everybody talking about taking a fine one design class and changing its' rig, rudder, and who knows what else, I guess Shortwave better get on board. Forget about running backstays and full length battens; we're going to simplify matters and go with a total rigid sail.
Look out Superpiper. (I think we'll change the name to “High Speed Wave”.)

Why not try one of these on a Sandpiper......course..ya might want to take along a parachute in case the boat climbs too high above the water.
