Scouted out this launch site at Boutiliers Point, St. Margaret's Bay yesterday.
Same old problem...no nearby float. You have to motor your 'Piper to the Gov't wharf, and then come back and park your van/trailer.

Gosh, I love the maritimes Nice shot of the dock!

That ramp looks doable Don. You are going to need a hand though, I would think. Have a look at the part we can't see. Check if you can, how the ramp extends into the water. Does it curve or go straight in. Watch for drop offs. I'd sure try it, at least once.

Another thing, can you use the ramp at low tide?

Remember to reduce wheel spin on the concrete hauling out, put the tranny in LOW 1. Now go sailing

Eric..
That lower part under water almost levels out.
I might have to launch/retrieve half way between high & low tides.
That way the trailer wheels should still be on the almost level part to help me get a start back up the ramp and I'd still have plenty of water under the hull.
I was there roughly at low tide and watched a guy load a walk through windshield to bow type of motor boat. Even with his SUV back wheels up to the top of the rubber in the salt water, he had to lift his speed boat's bow up a few inches to clear the first wide & shallow roller at the back of the trailer.
I almost winced as he cranked the boat forward, protesting all the way, with the winch.

Don, does your trailer tilt? My trailer has this feature, and I've only had to use it once, for retrieving. Here's a pic of mine in tilt mode while painting.

You'll notice that the trailer can almost scoop the boat of the bottom . Actually, the aft end of the trailer gets low enough to get the boat started on the trailer easily.
