Almost ready to push off from the dock.

The day turned ugly. Big Thunderstorm. Got off the lake, and secured the boat on the trailer and then the heavens let loose.

The second picture is just before I pulled the boat out of the water. Not a friendy sky

Sid;
I see where your mast raising stabilizing lines attach to the mast. Did you pop rivet some small pad eyes on the mast? How about at deck level? Are the fittings in line with the mast so the lines stay tight all the way up?

The stablizing lines are attached to the boat with snap hooks to footman loops at two points, front and rear of the mast on both side of the boat. Then a single line to the mast attached to with padeyes and bolted all the way through the mast. The blocks on the lines are level with the top of the mast step. And when raising the mast they are taught almost all the way up.

If you want I'll measure it all out for you. Makes raising the mast a breeze. And if a side stay should break, your mast should not be able to fall.

Please do Sid...if it's not too much trouble.
I'm still trying to decide the safest method for me. What was that hardware that your 'footman loups' attach to?

The footman loops are secured to the boat with stainless steel hardware. And then Snaphooks to the footman loops
