Did you say out your front door? That would be priceless. No trailering, launching etc. Boat looks great. How do you find that electric motor? Is that a VHF antenna the flag is attached to? I also see two sets of spreaders. Customized rigging? Custom stern rail?[This message has been edited by whited (edited July 02, 2004).] IP: 156.34.49.80 |

I thought those were extra spreaders and it even looked like there were additional stays to me at first in the second pic(actually forestay looked like extra main stay from that angle). From the third pic I have determined that it was just a bungee holding the haylard away from mast. You usually see the bungee run to one stay but looks like his runs to both. Just an optical disullusion I think.[This message has been edited by 2short S565 (edited July 02, 2004).] [This message has been edited by 2short S565 (edited July 02, 2004).] IP: 67.70.4.130 |

Thank you all ;Yes custom stern rail, just used for hanging things mostly. It is a VHF antennae on the right and MOB marker on the left, there is a 1/8 bungy cord spread between the stays to hold the halyard from clanking thats why it looks like double spreaders. The electric does a great job and still quiet enough to enjoy nature - I use it while sailing the bay. I strap on a 9.9 Evenrude when I take her out of the bay though, Superior can turn nasty, I have never had to use more than 1/4 throttle but better to error on the side of power than caught in a norwester wishing you had gone up a size. Looking at your 'Piper's stern, reminds me of a larger boat....like the Mirage 33 I crewed on. You have the same equipment..except we didn't carry a 'kicker' on the mount. We trusted the Yanmar diesel if the wind dropped.IP: 156.34.86.239 |
