I couldn't wait any longer for the weather. It's been raining a little everyday for 2 weeks. So I brought Barefoot to work and pulled her into the off-loading bay so I could set everything up.
The one thing I can say is, I didn't like putting the mast up by myself.
When the mast was finally up I came to the conclusion that my shrouds are to long. The PO said he replace a few things and I think this was one of them. The turnbuckles are in as far as they will go and the mast is way forward.
Does anyone know what the shroud lengths should be?
Thanx in advance. Patrick

Hi Patrick, I don't know the length of the shrouds, but it would not surprise me if it is the turnbuckles that are too long. I replaced mine last year and seem to remember ordering them from CL because the ones I found elsewhere were longer than the originals.

Looking at the parts list for the Sandpiper...it seems the forestay and shrouds are the same length. It's listed as 1/8" 7x19 ss etc. It looks like the rain may have finally stopped here. When things dry up a bit at noon ADT I'll try to measure mine.

Would longer spreaders shorten the shrouds making them workable? Or perhaps are the spreaders new and shorter than the originals?
