The clear vinyl hose with the fibreglass thread reinforcement I had bought from Princess Auto is crap. The one inch diameter stuff collapses when you bend it 90 degrees for the cockpit seat drain to transom thru-hull. I wonder if auto 'heater hose' style would be better? The other option might be put a 90 degree elbow in the line.

I installoed a 90 deg pvc elbow in mine to shoot the discharge over the stern on my DS II. I used the same hose as you did.

I used auto hoses when I changed my drain and it worked fine. The 90 deg turn must be long as it will bend the tube.

ShortWave has a piece of reinforced marine fuel filler hose connecting the cockpit floor drain and the thru-hull fitting just below it. The two heavy fuel tanks, spare anchor and other assorted lazarette gear will never crush this hose.
