I just reserved a slip at the marina for the Sandpiper rendezvous. They were a little unclear at the marina of what was going on. She said only 2 of us had reserved slips. I then learned that Darcy had reserved 12 slips, and I suggested that perhaps I was intended to be one of the 12, and that she might count down the number of slips to hold. This didn't seem right to her, I think she is expecting that Darcy might show up with 12 boats and she wasn't going to give away one of his slips. Furthermore, Darcy has 12 slips reserved for one night, July 30. I am coming from way too far to stay one night, so I reserved 3 nights. I might not stay 3 nights, but the extra $20 is worthwhile insurance in case I am too tired to leave Sunday night. The point is, if you plan to attend the rendezvous, you might want to call the marina and request a slip for the nights you want to stay, especially if you want to stay more than one night. They put me in a slip next to the block of 12 booked by Darcy. If you call, be sure to indicate that you want to be with the other Sandpipers, they will at least put us all together. Darcy, you might call and indicate that the 12 slips you reserved are intended for anybody that says they are with the Sandpiper Rendezvous. IP: 67.107.33.106 |

We're working out the bugs. I originally pre-booked the 12 spaces with the understanding that the number is not final. You should also be able to get more time if desired. I'll keep you posted. D'ArcyIP: 67.71.52.253 |

A bit more information on the rendezvous: The marina (through my original Chamber of Commerce contact) is now very aware of our Sandpiper Rendezvous group. Our contact is:Tim Evershed Big Sound Marina Manager 705-746-7642 Each boat should make its' own arrangements. Tim has said that any boat is welcome to come earlier or stay later (to do a bit more cruising in beautiful Parry Sound). If you do this, he is also offering a free pump-out. D'Arcy IP: 65.92.97.17 |
