Just took these this afternoon, after I screwed on my new to me teak rub rails! A big thanks again to Superpiper

I still have to work on the joint, and plug the screws! Minor compared to putting them on. I had my neighbour hold them on as I drilled, caulked, and screwed them on. Thanks to my bud, John!

Here's how the new head is shaping up. It's all filleted and taped. I need to go out now and fair it! This is my first attempt at any boat construction. I'm really pleased so far

I'm hoping for some warm and dry weather, for the final touches, and I'm good to go!

That boat sure is pretty.
What's next...a stern rail and lifelines?

Thanks Don.
No I will not be installing lifelines.

I met the owner of Stainless Outfitters last weekend at a friends house. This is the place were CL orders the ladders and stern rails for the Sandpiper.

I prefer the clean uncluttered look without the stantions and lines. I may work on a stern rail that is customized. I sorta like the way the rails are designed for West Wight Potters. They have a low rail the extends forward about 6" up from the coaming. SS rails are expensive as you know. I just haven't felt a strong need to have one yet. I find the Sandpiper sails great without them, and looks more sporty too

In my case, the wife pretty well insisted on them. (we had the full package on our 1983 Siren) She gets nervous on the water when the boat heels and feels much safer a bit closed in.

Im in agreement with you Eric, Pipers look great without the lifelines - and a 6'1" with long legs I think maybe not that safe where you allready don't have a lot of width on the side decks to walk.
But my first mate (wife) at 5' wanted them feels much safer - we compromised I got the stern rail but not the stanchons and lines -
Dont the lifelines interfere with the jib foot ?

Eric, you have one of the oldest in our e-fleet, but one of the most beautiful. Thank you for sharing your good fortune & hard work.

Moreover, Paradise a great testament to how well our boat can stand the test of time!

Thanks again!
