Well, there hasn't been a new post in over 2 days, so I thought I might as well start something new. The subject line says it all. It may be hard to stick to one thing... I know I have several. (and of course, they are ALL important, and I wish I could finish them all yesterday)so write away!!!! I would like to organize my halyards back to the cockpit, wood-trim interior, add stereo, replace cleats with small winches...hmmmmmmm ------------------ Rob Belliveau 1976 Sandpiper 565 "Cool Breeze" Halifax NS Soon to be at DYC IP: 24.224.173.200 |

I plan to remove the black paint from all my 'brightwork' and re-finish to the standards of some of the boats shown on this newsgroup. This includes the rudder and tiller handle.IP: 156.34.51.160 |

Great question Rob!! As you all know, I've already started 1: repair keel 2: new head 3: replace rub rail 4: install wood accents to interior (windy's fault ) 5: make a bimini top(if budget allows!)The keel is a for sure. The rub rail will get done as I have removed the junk that was there already (reference pic in keel removal thread). The head is of prime importance, and will get done late in winter or early spring. The rest of the items are items I'd really like to do Eric IP: 64.228.0.176 |

Wind Chime waits patiently (outside her skipper's home office window) for MSD hose hookup, new varnish on teak, trailer repaint, and a host of other items in preparation for next season's sailing. (She's been drydocked for two seasons while her skipper built the new addition - behind, and diligently bricks the main storey before winter.) She looks forward to the Rendezvous with eager anticipation! 1. Refinish rudder blade. 2. Repair and refinish centerboard. 3. Refinish all the teak. 4. Dream of being back on the water, no, make that #1.IP: 198.208.160.27 |

Our main winter project (unfortunately) is to fix the blistering on our old powerboat hull. We've had the hull rolled upside down on its trailer so we can easily work on it over the winter. Blisters will be sanded then many coats of interprotect and VC17 will be applied.I've done this to a Shark hull before. Its hard gruelling work. Ken had already done this work to Shortwave's hull which is just one of the reasons we bought it. If I have time after that I'm going to refinish our rudder. I know it's heresy in this forum, but we're thinking of painting it with VC17. Since we leave the boat in the water for long periods of time, the rudder often stays in the water. We're also rationalizing ratchet blocks on the fairleads. D'Arcy IP: 70.48.7.181 |

D'Arcy:ShortWave was undercoated with 5 coats of VC-Tar before the VC-17 antifouling was applied. The literature of that time (1989) made me believe that those two VC products were quite compatable. Not sure about Interprotect 'tho. Great shots of you and your family enjoying the boat....that makes me happy to see it will continue to be looked after and actively sailed. There's nothing worse than to see a boat neglected on the hard somewhere. That was the way I found her.... IP: 141.117.228.250 |

LOL, I am still going through the application process. I have my boat at my place in Halifax. Where it is in my driveway, I will have no excuse not to work on it!! Re-finished the table this weekend. Fully stripped it, sanded, and re-finished. Found really solid, new table hinges (proper ones for tables like ours)I was so happy to find them, I kinda stumbled on to them. Oh well, One project down. ------------------ Rob Belliveau 1976 Sandpiper 565 "Cool Breeze" Halifax NS Soon to be at DYC IP: 24.224.173.200 |

My #1 project is to cut new inspection ports in the side of the cockpit so that I may remove the fairlead tracks, seal the fittings, and replace them, with new bolts.------------------ Canadian Sailor ;) "Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. Rob, I'd be interested in what type of hinges you bought for your table. Can you post a pic or link? Thanks, Eric.IP: 206.172.171.43 |

I can't tell you how excited I was to find them. I will post a pic tonight. They are basically a folding table hinge.------------------ Rob Belliveau 1976 Sandpiper 565 "Cool Breeze" Halifax NS Soon to be at DYC IP: 24.224.173.200 |

Speaking of tables.....I found that ours was a real kneebanger when getting in and out. They were also made of particleboard shelving material (hopelessly swollen) so out they went. Don't you folks find them awkward when climbing inside?IP: 141.117.228.250 |

Sure do! I find the keel trunk is also in my way. Thought it was my size 12 feet taking up too much room.IP: 156.34.51.160 |
