The plan right now is to paint the hull dark blue with Interlux Brightside. I will be using Black interlux Micron CSC for the antifouling paint. Once hull is finished I want to get boat back on trailer so I can then paint deck. I want to be able to get boat out of boat shelter so I can see what I am doing. Also will give me some air when cleaning fiberglass with cleaner.

Hull is sanded and ready to go with primer. I determined water line measurements using all the feedback I received on forum.

Here are some pictures of the trailer. Spent days removing old paint and rust using drill and metal brush head. Two coats of rustoleum primer and two coats of black rustoleum paint. For the hard to get to places a couple cans of rustoleum black spray paint. Paint was semigloss and I am very happy with the outcome.
All old wiring replaced and lights reinstalled. Installed new bunks instead of using the trailer pads I had before.

Installed new bearings, axle clamps, and new tires. I have not put fenders back on as I need trailer to fit under cross beams when removing boat from cradle.

Mark, the boat and trailer are looking GREAT!!

Good project. Good presentation, too. We appreciate the photos and the updates.

We're anxious to see the hull painted. Keep the pictures coming.

I will probably get some mixed emotions on this one but I want to modernize the boat as far as the look goes. I am not going to reinstall the wooden rub rails and Have ordered Taco rub rail kit.

For all the wood for the hatches and railings I was going to stain again but Descided to go with Brightside white paint. This will give wood a durable finish and I will not have to keep staining.

Hull sanded with 80 grit sandpaper then wiped down with dry cloth. Hull then cleaned with Interlux #202 solvent wash. You definitely want to wear the appropriate mask when sanding fiberglass and cleaning with solvent wash. First coat of Interlux Pre-Kote primer applied. Will let dry for 24hrs then lightly sand with 120 grit paper and wipe down with brushing liquid 333. Then apply another coat of Pre- Kote primer.

Paint not as thick as I thought it would be after giving it a good stir. I was very cautious and did not want it to run so I put on a very thin coat. I rather do 3 to 4 thinner coats so there is no running.

for applying primer I have just been using a roller. When painting with Brightside I will use the roll and tip method.

For what I can tell from YouTube video apply paint with roller up and down and then tip with brush horizontally. When tipping with the brush the recommendation is to do it very lightly.

It is also recommended to thin out paint slightly with brushing liquid 333.

For anyone that has painted boat did you lightly use orbital sander between coats or do by hand using sandpaper and block?
