S.C. 386
The Early Elizabethan Era (1952-1972) witnessed the issuing of 181 commemorative stamps, including two stamps to complete the Prime Ministers series begun in 1951 and the twenty stamps in the Native Indians of Canada series issued in 1972-1976. The Elizabethan reign also overlaps the George VI era postally and for the sake of continuity, the three high value definitive stamps in the Natural Resources Series ( 50 cent Oil, 10 cent Furs and $1 Fish), 15 cent Beaver of 1951 and the first two issues of the Prime Ministers series are included in the Early Elizabethan era.
Thus,
this present handbook deals not only with the commemorative stamps
of this period, but also includes for the sake of ease of use,
a section on the the overlapping high value definitive stamps.
As in the case of all other handbooks in this series, The Early
Elizabethan Era, 1952-1972, Part III: Commemoratives, starts
with a presentation of the technical aspects of the stamps of
the era including design, printers, plates, papers, and perforations
etc. This information is followed by a comprehensive listing of
the regular issues and their varieties, divided into convenient
yearly groupings. A detailed price list accompanies the listings.
Each grouping then concludes with a section containing illustrations
of the main varieties in this grouping of stamps. The latest in
two simultaneous releases of Canadian Stamp Handbooks, this
handbook retails at $16.95 while a matching binder for the series
is available for $9.95. All orders for Canadian Stamp Handbooks
