Since 1980 our family's LIFESTYLE re Foods we Eat, has changed dramatically. We

  • cut down on the consumption of WHITE sugar.
  • cut down on the consumption of WHITE flour.
  • cut down on the consumption of RED MEAT, especially ground beef and pork products.
  • increased our use of RAW WHOLE foods - FRUIT AND VEGGIES.

  • We no longer have our own ORGANIC gardens even though we feel it is worth it for the extra nutritive value of the end product compared to the chemically produced veggies/fruit in the produce section of our local stores. We live in a small city on a corner lot where we have also established a small organic garden space for the summer basics.

  • steam, stir fry or water-less cook veggies as much as possible.

  • Use only triple-filtered WATER from our tap TO DRINK,
  • or purchase Ozone enriched Spring Water from President's Choice (Zehr's, Loblasw's, etc. connection)

  • .

    Have you tasted the stuff that comes out of your taps recently? YICK!!

  • use little or no BLACK teas - only HERB TEAS -(Yes! We had to learn to enjoy their different tastes - a little liquid raw honey assisted that problem) but think of the variety there is from which to choose - 100's. It's not just "Would you like some tea?" but "What kind of tea would you like!" the variety is endless!!
  • use very little REGULAR COFFEE - Our mixture in the perk is about 1/4 Fine ground, 1/4 Swiss Water Decaf, a little sea salt and 1/2 Caf Lib (made from barley and chicory) from the grocery store.
  • Use only Sea Salt or a salt substitute like Vegisal, Veggit, Mrs. Dash or something else that is based on the VEGETABLE SALTS, NOT "NaCl" - you do realize that "NaCl" is a drug!!
  • Also we now pick Elderberries and Blackberries from the wild which I freeze, preserve or make into juice and/or jellies. When I peel a Pear or and Apple, I keep the skins and cores, cover them with water, boil them up and put the juice and pulp thru a sieve.  Then I add some of this to my Red Grape Juice.  For the winter I will also add Elderberry juice along with Zambroza (Fruit juice-mixture from Nature's Sunshine that is a very high antioxidant ) and some Essential Liquid Minerals (they are pre-digested in their liquid state)
  • Now you might say (or think)! Lady is it really worth the effort? I don't have TIME or the inclination! to cook, or bake, or even prepare a meal for that matter. There's the kids to care for, the job to attend to, the property to care for (and I know some of you probably maintain two or more properties, - summer, winter and in-between seasons.) There's the many extra curricular activities, community service projects, church functions, many other kinds of volunteer things - you know, good things to help the poor! There just isn't any time left!! 

    OH! But if you don't change your lifestyle, your habits, what you eat, the STRESS-filled life you live, YOU WON'T BE HERE TO HELP OTHERS! Life is short! and your LIFESTYLE just may be making it SHORTER!!


    The minister that shared in our marriage ceremony, 49 years ago (Oops! that gives me away!), was over 100 years old when he died in November 1996. He came to a seminar I did about 15 years before and made the comment "why should he bother doing anything different in his life?" My question was this:
    How many of your friends are about your age and HEALTHY?
    Answer "Not many! They're mostly all gone now."
    How many of your friends or acquaintances have been sickly for years? on much medication! not able to be out and about like you? He couldn't think of very many except maybe my mother, my mother-in-law, his wife and not many more.

    Yes! Most people take many, many years of BEING SICK, before they finally die. 
    PERSONALLY, I WANT TO DIE, HEALTHY!!
    WHAT ABOUT YOU??

    WELL! What can be done about it?



    1. You have to decide whether or not you like being ill!
    2.Then you have to MAKE A DECISION about how you are going to stay well or regain your health!
    3.You, then, may need someone who knows something about nutrition to help you get started.
    Here are some suggestions for starters:
  • Look over the products in your cupboard and READ THE LABELS! But, you say the words are too long!! Then they are probably full of chemicals. However here are some words found on products you might wish to eliminate -
  • Monosodium Glutamate (MSG or hydrolyzed protein-many people are allergic to this one)
  • Sodium nitrite or nitrate (both cancer causing elements)
  • Maltol (a flavour enhancer found in most chocolate mixes and known to encourage a person's body to hold ALUMINUM!!-see research out of University of Toronto a few years back. I have it if you want to read it!)
  • Isopropyl glycol or alcohol (often found in Ready-mix products - cakes, cookies, muffins, etc.) and many other PRE-PACKAGED items.
  • Salt, plus one or more "OTHER" kinds of SODIUM (There's often 3 or 4 present where ordinary salt is found!
  • Cheap ice-cream (Just see what's on that label!)
  • All smoked products! (You say you've got to be kidding! What will I put in the sandwiches for lunch?) There are canned deep sea fish! A veggie salad with fresh-cooked chicken, turkey, hard-boiled eggs- quality peanut butter. (Mind you!! if you aren't careful you'll find ICING SUGAR, SALT and vegetable oil added to it.)
  • Canned fruit/veggies will almost all have SUGAR and SALT in them.
  • Prepackaged ANYTHING may have to go!

  • This way you can begin your NEW WAY OF LIFE, with CLEAN Cupboards!!maybe!

    Now take the time (you owe it to yourself) and walk about any modern supermarket.

    Check labels on products in every aisle! You may want to go to the PRODUCE section first (No LABELS! to read). Some companys are realizing the customer's nutritional concerns and are producing 'no-name' or names like President's Choice or Master's Choice or even 'ORGANIC'to provide better quality food with less chemicals, sugar and/or salt added. 
    Many years ago a lady I knew, was told by her surgeon to go on a fat-free, fried food free-diet until she could have GALL BLADDER surgery. She called me, almost in tears, with the question, "What can I eat?" She was sure she would starve on such a limited diet. However I suggested she come into my Health Food store and we would find her things to eat. A few hours later, she left the store with several bags of food all allowed on what seemed to be an impossible diet. She did a GALL BLADDER FLUSH and eliminated the need for surgery as well!


    Changing your diet is only difficult, if you see the negative side - the IMPOSSIBLENESS, if you will, of the challenge. You may find others that are using the same exciting Way of Life - don't call it a diet!!)

    You will probably find that you and they are not (i)having the flu and colds nearly as often (ii)seriously ill (iii) in the doctor's office near as much.
    Actually they are probably healthier than ever! and they probably are taking extra
    FOOD SUPPLEMENTSalong with their new LIFESTYLE!


    We are! No more Cold remedies, nose drops (we've used about two bottles in 16 years!!) Only Vit C and other herbal supplements, lots of quality juices and clean water.
