Naturopathic doctors are health care professionals who treat the whole individual i.e. the physical, mental and emotional health as well as genetic predispositions, social and environmental influences. ND's stress self- responsibility and preventative health. Naturopathic doctors use a variety of treatments with patients.
WHAT IS A NATUROPATHIC PHYSICIAN?
A Naturopathic Physician after receiving a university degree is some subject, then attends at least a four-year graduate-level federally accredited
Naturopathic school (in Southern Ontario it is in Toronto.) and is educated in all of the same sciences as an medical doctor. However the curriculum also includes holistic and nontoxic approaches to therapies with a strong emphasis on disease prevention and optimizing wellness.
In addition to standard medical curriculum, a Naturo -pathic Physician is required to complete four years of clinical nutrition, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, iridolgoy, psychology, and counseling to encourage people to make lifestyle changes in support of their personal health.
A Naturopathic Physician takes rigorous professional board exams so that he or she may be licensed by a state Province or jurisdiction as a primary care general practice physician.
