Nisar Ahmed Mian studied art at the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan. There he studied modern techniques, as well as the demanding traditional discipline of Moghul (or Mughal) miniature painting under the foremost masters of the art in the world. He graduated first in his class in 1969. He has been a studio designer for Pakistan television, an illustrator and director of illustrative work for textbooks, industrial graphics designer, textile designer, and freelance artist. He works in a variety of traditional and modern media, paintings, sculpture, and casting. He presently and lives and paints in Niagara Falls, Canada.
